Sarah Kinsley brings her self-produced art-pop to The Mod Club in Toronto on April 22, 2026. A New York–based singer, songwriter and producer, she writes with a DIY mindset and a taste for lush arrangements. Trained on piano and violin, she builds songs where voice, strings, keyboards and subtle electronics intersect, often with evolving structures and slow-burning lifts. Her EPs The King (2021), Cypress (2022) and Ascension (2023) sketched a line between intimate ballads and more rhythmic cuts. Escaper, her 2024 debut album, threads these facets into a more narrative frame. On stage, she condenses the studio layers into a lean setup while keeping the melodic focus front and center.
Also on the bill, Detroit-raised songwriter Charlie Burg blends alternative pop, contemporary soul and indie-leaning R&B. First noticed in the mid-2010s with self-produced tracks, he sharpened an intimate writing style around relationships and everyday transitions. A trilogy of EPs — One, Violet; Two, Moonlight; and Three, Fever — set his course across US indie circuits. In 2022, his album Infinitely Tall broadened the palette with touches of soul, jazz and rock without dropping the bedroom-pop sensibility. Live, he favors tight arrangements and a clear rhythmic drive.
