Info
Son Little, the stage name of Aaron Earl Livingston, crafts a hybrid soul out of Philadelphia where blues, rhythm and blues and folk intersect. After notable collaborations with The Roots and with RJD2 as part of Icebird, he refocused on his own songs, driven by spare songwriting and a hushed, velvety voice. From the EP Things I Forgot (2014) to his albums Son Little (2015), New Magic (2017), Aloha (2020) and Like Neptune (2022), he has honed a sound built on gritty guitars, slow grooves and gospel influences, shaped with contemporary textures. He has also written and produced for Mavis Staples, underlining his grounding in African‑American musical heritage reinterpreted for the present.
Son Little – CityFolk Tour 2026 stops at The Pearl, Vancouver, BC, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, with special guests. On stage, his songs shift from minimal blues to a more psychedelic soul, moving between whispered confidences and collective build‑ups. It’s a journey through his catalogue that highlights his restraint in arrangements, his sense of groove and a taste for concise formats, without sacrificing melodic continuity or the intensity of the live performance.
