The Damn Truth

The Damn Truth brings its Montreal-born rock to Le Club Dix30 in Brossard on May 9, 2026. Formed in the early 2010s, the quartet — singer-guitarist Lee-La Baum, guitarist Tom Shemer, bassist PY Letellier and drummer Dave Traina — taps a sound anchored in the 1970s aesthetic, mixing bluesy riffs, hard rock energy and a touch of psychedelia. Their debut album, Dear in the Headlights (2012), laid the groundwork with twin overdriven guitars and a vocal register shaded by soul. Devilish Folk (2016) focused the writing around direct song structures and layered harmonies. With Now or Nowhere (2021), produced in part with Bob Rock, the band kept a raw edge while opening up to more melodic arrangements.

On stage, The Damn Truth plays with the force of a power trio, subtly thickened by Baum’s rhythm guitar. The set moves from slow-burn ballads to heavier tracks, staying close to the North American blues rock tradition. A night for listeners who want guitars up front and songs that hit straight without decoration.
