On May 11, 2026, The Paper Kites bring their If You Go There, I Hope You Find It tour to MTELUS in Montréal. Born from Melbourne’s indie scene in the late 2000s, the band led by Sam Bentley and Christina Lacy shapes intimate indie folk built on close harmonies, acoustic textures and a faint dream-pop hue. From early EPs Woodland and Young North to States, the nocturnal turn of twelvefour, the paired releases On the Train Ride Home and On the Corner Where You Live, then Roses, their songwriting stays melodic and understated. The recent At the Roadhouse leans into a warm, live-in-the-room feel that suits a venue like MTELUS.
Donovan Woods joins as a Canadian singer-songwriter rooted in folk, country and americana. Raised in Ontario and active between Toronto and Nashville, he writes stripped-back songs that focus on small details and quiet narratives. After The Hold Up and The Widowmaker, he sharpened his voice on Don’t Get Too Grand and Hard Settle, Ain’t Troubled, followed by Both Ways and the minimal Without People. On stage, he favors intimate setups and a restrained delivery that keeps the words front and center.
