Calexico

Calexico arrives at the Cirque Royal in Brussels on 26 April 2026. Born on the border between indie rock and the music of the American Southwest, the band has carved out a distinctive line for years where folk, mariachi, cumbia and flashes of spaghetti western intersect. Warm trumpets, slide guitars, supple rhythms and cinematic arrangements create a soundscape that smells of desert, road and border towns. The vocals, sometimes in English, sometimes in Spanish, navigate between luminous ballads and more restless tempos, with a way of letting the music breathe and then tightening the intensity at the right moment.

On stage, Calexico stretch their songs, open instrumental interludes and play the contrasts between acoustic intimacy and electric thrust. The brass answers the strings, percussion sets up a trance, and the melodies linger effortlessly. The concert at the Cirque Royal promises a generous journey through their repertoire, between expected classics and more recent tracks, with that hybrid signature that lets Tucson, Tijuana and European clubs converse.
