H-Burns & The Stranger Quartet

On April 30, 2026 at La Belle Électrique in Grenoble, H‑Burns pays tribute to Leonard Cohen with his project Burns on the Wire. A French songwriter, composer and performer, he has been following a folk‑rock path for nearly twenty years, shaped by sixties references such as Dylan and Springsteen. Ten years after the death of the Canadian poet, he revisits a selection of tracks from the early albums, accompanied by his close collaborator Antoine Pinet, multi‑instrumentalist and arranger, and the Stranger Quartet. The quartet’s strings and voices blend with his in spare, precise arrangements that emphasize the grain of his performances.

Barkanan brings together Ianis and Léo, brothers who are singer‑songwriters and multi‑instrumentalists. Their folk music moves between the intimate and the vastness of open landscapes; Ianis’s high‑register voice is supported by Léo’s guitars, piano and drums. After a first self‑produced collection, their EP La traversée was released in autumn 2024, mixed by Clément Roussel and mastered by Alex Gopher. On stage, their two vocal timbres — one deep, the other in the high register — answer one another with a duo‑like complicity that highlights the songwriting and melodies.
