Antes & Madzes, a duo from Rodez, are carving out their path with a hybrid, direct rap in which self-mockery slips into tightly written lyrics. Everyday life becomes raw material, filtered through an unpretentious social gaze. Sharply honed punchlines, complementary flows, beats that are taut yet melodic: their writing favors precision, balancing clear imagery with turns of phrase that stick, without unnecessary effects. You hear both an attention to detail and a desire to get straight to the point.
After a series of singles, the EP Merci de rien, released on 8 October 2025, distills their current palette: crisp rhythms, memorable choruses, street-level chronicles, wry humor and a calm lucidity. On stage, the duo rely on complementarity — a vocal back-and-forth, chanted passages and melodic interludes — for a set that blends new tracks with those that have shaped their identity.
