Info
Phosphorescent, the project of American singer-songwriter Matthew Houck, stops in Paris on May 18, 2026, at Point Ephémère Paris. Known for a folk style that is at once delicate and bruised, Houck moves forward without artifice, letting the melodies breathe. After Muchacho and C’est La Vie, he returns with Revelator, an album that takes stock of the turbulent years and tightens his songwriting.
Settled in Nashville after leaving New York, having become a father and having gone through trials, Houck delivers more introspective songs. On Revelator, his weathered voice moves between memories, apprehensions and moments of respite, supported by spare, sometimes hazy arrangements where guitars, keyboards and backing vocals set a simple, precise frame.
Shaped through a series of writing retreats and nourished by his Full Moon Project—a monthly series of covers of influential artists—this record explores what is lost, what is found again, and how to move forward. On stage, Phosphorescent weaves these threads together and draws from his entire catalogue, between folk, Americana and measured ballads, for a restrained and deeply felt performance.
