On 21 March 2026, at The Black Lab in Wasquehal, Villagers of Ioannina City and My Diligence share the bill for an evening that spans psychedelic rock, stoner and post-metal.
Hailing from Epirus, Greece, Villagers of Ioannina City weave a distinctive bridge between hypnotic riffs and traditional folk. Clarinets, bagpipes and flutes intertwine with guitars to create a dense sound that alternates between contemplative and earthbound. Since 2007 the band has refined this sonic material, from Riza (2014) to Age of Aquarius (2019), and captured their stage presence on the live record Through Space and Time – Alive (2020). On stage, the rhythm section anchors the trance, the wind instruments extend the guitar lines, and the set’s dynamics evoke both Greek landscapes and the electricity of rock in motion.
From Belgium, My Diligence pushes the dial toward psychedelic post-metal with heavy riffs and hazy melodies. The trio works through contrasts—saturated textures, repetitions that build tension, and clear vocals that chart the course. Their tight, physical playing creates a tense atmosphere, suited as much to slow, building detonations as to sudden eruptions. Their stage presence answers VIC’s atmospheric excursions in a harsher mirror, offering a dialogue of guitars and energies to be discovered at The Black Lab in Wasquehal on 21 March 2026.
