Info
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will take over the Arènes de Nîmes on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, as part of the Festival de Nîmes. A leading figure of Australian rock, Nick Cave has, since the early 1980s, forged a taut and intimate songwriting style, shaped by his deep voice and stories that glide from blues to gospel, from post-punk to piano ballads. Around him, The Bad Seeds, led notably by Warren Ellis, blend guitars, keyboards and strings into a sound that can move from restraint to surge without losing its thread.
On stage, the band traverses its repertoire without a fixed chronology, from Let Love In and The Boatman’s Call to Push the Sky Away, Skeleton Tree or Ghosteen. Songs are reconfigured, dynamics shift, and the exchange with the audience remains central, Cave at the edge of the pit, microphone extended, hands clasped. At the Arènes de Nîmes, the stone setting promises an expansive set where silences breathe and crescendos strike true, between incantations, rock impulses and piano confidences, for an evening tailor-made for Nîmes’s open-air atmosphere.
