On March 20, 2026, Les Cuizines Chelles welcomes La Maison Tellier, a Rouen-based band that has navigated between folk rock and French chanson since 2005, to present their eighth album. Around Helmut and his bandmates, the group continues its journey with songs that speak to the experience of being alive, blending tenderness, distance and crisp melodies. The record nods to 16 Horsepower’s final album and embraces folk hues: Tex‑Mex echoes in the vein of Calexico, veiled ballads that recall Shane MacGowan, and scorching, dusty textures reminiscent of Ali Farka Touré. Without grandiloquence—just guitars that kick up dust, voices answering one another and songwriting that keeps its bearings—faithful to a simple promise: to make the music they love and to love the music they make. On stage, these motifs gain depth and intensity, with that mix of travelling folk and chanson spirit that defines La Maison Tellier’s identity.
