Ary Abittan « Authentique »

Ary Abittan returns to the stage with Authentique, a show in which he tells his story uncensored and reexamines what he’s experiencing today. At 50, he talks about fatherhood, love, separation and resilience, explores couple dynamics, goes back to his childhood and scrutinizes those small everyday mechanisms that reveal a lot. He alternates between storytelling and inhabiting characters, moves from a personal confidence to a role, brings up very concrete situations and turns them inside out with his own sense of rhythm. Beneath the jokes you can hear doubts, hardships, recoveries, and the desire to hang on and move forward. Authentique is built like a conversation that spills over into sketches, a back-and-forth between the intimate and the stage, where we follow a man who organizes his memories, his awkwardnesses and his hopes into material for laughter.
