Biréli Lagrène quartet

On March 21, 2026, at Le Bascala in Bruguières, the Biréli Lagrène Quartet brings together four musicians with complementary backgrounds. Biréli Lagrène, at the crossroads of gypsy jazz and modern exploration, lets an agile guitar converse with hues drawn from fusion and contemporary jazz, while retaining echoes of Django Reinhardt and the standards. On trumpet, Stéphane Belmondo — heard alongside Quincy Jones and Michel Petrucciani — contributes precise phrasing and a lyricism well suited to musical exchange. On bass, Rémi Vignolo establishes a supple pulse, weaves melodic lines and leaves space to breathe. On drums, André Ceccarelli, a long-standing collaborator with numerous ensembles, supports and propels the music, balancing groove, finesse and collective dynamics. Together they rely on improvisation, attentive listening and dialogue to create music that navigates between heritage and the present, between reimagined standards and original compositions, with the energy of a quartet at home on stage.
