Elie Semoun « Cactus »

Elie Semoun returns with Cactus, his eighth show, at the Théâtre Femina Bordeaux on April 15, 2026. For thirty years he has explored comedy by multiplying characters and everyday situations. In this new chapter, stand-up takes a larger place: mic in hand, he links his figures, pits them against each other and lets them derail. You meet Jean Abdul, who opens his own show; a son who takes his father on a tour of a nursing home; Xavier, living with a motor disability, who introduces his wife to his mother; a father confronting his child’s transition; and a karate class taught by a racist. He also addresses sexual harassment and religion, varying the angles and points of view. Cactus does not merely pile up sketches: a thread emerges between the themes, with frank jokes and embodied characters that push the limits. A simple, direct way to return to what he loves doing: capturing the spirit of the times through characters and making them speak.
