Chiens et chats

Think you know dogs and cats? You might be surprised—you’ll find out while having fun during the exhibition. Cat or Bichon, pooch or kitty, felines and canines have been humanity’s companions for millennia. Today in France, nearly 23 million of them live in households. But how did they become different from wild animals? How do they perceive the world? What emotions do they experience? Do they communicate? Do they understand us? An exhibition with bite (and purr)!

The major exhibition Chiens et chats—first presented at the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in 2015—returns to Paris in a new version, after winning over more than 3 million visitors across six countries (France, United States, Canada, Portugal, Austria and the United Kingdom)!

Three thematic areas: Biology; History and relationships with humans; and, from the cats’ and dogs’ point of view, ethology and behavior, concluding with their place in our societies and a focus on animal welfare.
