Info
On 8 October 2027, Jean-Michel Jarre will come to the Gashouder in Amsterdam with “OXYGENE & BEYOND,” an evening that celebrates fifty years of Oxygène while looking beyond that milestone album. Jarre is known as a pioneer of French electronic music, with a sound you recognize instantly: layered synths, long instrumental build-ups, repeating melodic motifs, and rhythmic sequences that unfold slowly.
In this show, the focus is on the Oxygène universe, but also on the thread he followed afterward: the floating atmospheres of Équinoxe, the more pulsating structures of later records, and his way of making electronics feel cinematic without leaning on vocals. Expect a set that combines precision with space to breathe, in the typical Jarre approach where sound design, melody, and grandly built passages are central.
