Info
On April 30, 2027, The Cinematic Orchestra lands at KOKO in London with its signature blend of nu jazz, downtempo and film-score-like electronics. Built around Jason Swinscoe and an ever-shifting cast of musicians from the jazz and improvised scenes, the project treats the stage like a live studio: acoustic instruments, samples and electronics weaving together, slowly stacking textures until the grooves breathe on their own.
Expect a set that moves between the band’s key eras, from the early, cinematic pulse of Motion to the image-driven mindset behind Man with a Movie Camera, and the more song-oriented side explored on Ma Fleur and To Believe. The point isn’t a straight run-through of a catalogue, but that particular Cinematic Orchestra feeling: detailed arrangements, room for improvisation, and long-form pieces that can tilt from intimate to widescreen without ever rushing it.
