Info
On 19 September 2027 Sivert Høyem will come to SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen with his Europe 27 Tour. Høyem is known to all as the distinctive voice of Madrugada, the Norwegian band that in the late nineties laid down a dark, tight alternative rock sound, somewhere between post-punk, nocturnal ballads and roaring guitars. You can still hear that experience in his solo work: slow-burning songs, restrained arrangements and melodies that take their time. Since his solo debut Ladies and Gentlemen of the Opposition (2004), he has steadily continued to build his own universe, with albums such as Exiles, Moon Landing, Long Slow Distance, Endless Love, Lioness and the recent On an Island (2024). In performance, it's all about that deep, instantly recognizable voice and songs that drift between indie rock, Americana and folk, unadorned but with plenty of room for atmosphere and tension.
