Info
Big Special land at The Globe in Cardiff on November 25, 2026, bringing the West Midlands duo’s tight, post-industrial take on punk-rooted rock to the stage. Built around Joe Hicklin’s spoken-sung delivery and Callum Moloney’s hard-driving drums, their set plays with tension: heavy rhythms, propulsive low-end and a gritty atmosphere that brushes up against post-punk and industrial without losing the directness of classic British punk and spoken word.
On stage, Big Special lean into storytelling and sharp, plainspoken lyrics about working-class life, mental health, and social frustration, more like a wired monologue riding a band than a frontman “performing” a song. Expect material from their debut album Postindustrial Hometown Blues (2024), where raw energy and darker melodies sit side by side, plus the punchy momentum that helped them build a reputation across the UK’s independent circuit.
Supporting on the night: The Joy Hotel and Bradley Taylor.
