Info
The Growlers bring their hazy “beach goth” universe to Toronto on April 22, 2027, for City Club Live at Danforth Music Hall. Formed in Southern California, the band built its cult on a crooked mix of surf, psychedelia, garage grit and post-punk pulse, all carried by Brooks Nielsen’s raspy, theatrical delivery and Matt Taylor’s atmospheric guitar work. Expect songs that move between romantic melancholy and street-level storytelling, with that signature vintage glow: sunlit chords with a darker edge, humor that often hides something heavier, and choruses made to be shouted back in a packed room. With key eras like Gilded Pleasures, Chinese Fountain, the Julian Casablancas-produced City Club, and later material from Natural Affair, this show leans into a decade-plus of skewed pop instincts and woozy rock energy, built for a live setting that feels both loose and strangely precise.
