Info
Clarion, the L.A. band built around Anthony Sanchez, Saya Oliva and Joseph, comes to Commonwealth in Calgary on January 31, 2027. Born out of the local DIY scene, the project locks onto a compact format where guitars are pushed thick and close, mixing hazy textures, post-punk tension and flashes of Japanese rock influence. Their early EP laid out that balance between melodic shoegaze drift and nervous, propulsive rhythms, carried by vocals that stay emotional without getting precious.
Onstage, Clarion leans into that immersive, frontal sound: direct songs, choruses wrapped in saturation, and momentum that keeps tightening as the set goes on. Since breaking out beyond Los Angeles indie circles, the band has been sharpening its live presence through constant gigs and releases, with a lineup that can expand on drums. Expect a show that hits hard and stays detailed, right in that sweet spot between blur and bite.
