Info
The Academic take the stage at La Maroquinerie in Paris on April 7, 2027, with this blend of nervy, melodic indie rock that propelled the Mullingar quartet. Revealed in 2018 by Tales From The Backseat, self-produced and propelled to the top of the Irish charts, Craig Fitzgerald, Dean Gavin, and the Murtagh brothers have built a genuine live reputation on stage, with guitars that cut straight and choruses that endure, without overdoing it.
Since then, the band has widened its playing field with Sitting Pretty (2023), a more assured album where raw energy meets the doubts and tremors of early adulthood. Influences embraced (from The Kinks to Talking Heads, with a taste for rock tension), sincere and immediate songwriting: the live show promises what The Academic does best—a compact concert, driven by collective singing and this simple way of turning nostalgia into motion.
