Info
Critical Defiance is a Chilean thrash metal band founded in 2010 in the Valparaíso region. Rooted in the speed and aggression of classic thrash, the band has developed an identity characterized by riffs, abrupt rhythmic shifts, precision, and a raw South American edge. After their early demos and underground activity, Critical Defiance released their debut album Misconception in 2019, followed by No Life Forms in 2022 and The Search Won’t Fall… in 2024. On these albums, the band consolidated an approach that fuses old-school aggression, technical control, and lyrics addressing war, tyranny, social conflicts, and the collapse of humanity. In 2026, Critical Defiance returns with Rivers of Blood, their fourth full-length album, continuing their collaboration with Dying Victims Productions. The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Sebastián Palomino's Vardager Studios and features eight tracks exploring speed, hostility, and the band's relationship to Valparaíso. On November 4, 2026, Critical Defiance will take the stage at Ponyhof in Frankfurt am Main. Support: DET
