Info
On November 19, 2026, in Newcastle upon Tyne at The Cluny, Abigail Lapell brings her Toronto-born take on modern folk to the stage: a sound that leans into shadowy storytelling and wide-open melodies, somewhere between prairie noir and desert rock. Known for writing songs that feel intimate without being precious, she moves between voice and piano, switches to harmonica, and settles into fingerstyle guitar when the lyrics need space to land.
Lapell arrives with serious momentum behind her, after picking up three Canadian Folk Music Awards, including English Songwriter of the Year and Contemporary Album of the Year. Her songs have topped Canadian folk radio and travelled far beyond it, carried by millions of streams and a steady touring rhythm across North America and Europe. This date also sits in the wake of Anniversary, her latest album released in May 2024 on Outside Music, a new chapter built for live rooms and close attention.
