Dropkick Murphys bring their Boston-bred mix of street punk and Irish folk to Ottawa on March 2, 2027, at History Ottawa. Since the late 90s, the band has built its sound around big, shout-along choruses, melodic traditional touches and a working-class edge that hits hardest live. Expect a set that moves between early foundations like Do or Die and The Gang’s All Here, the sharper punch of Blackout and The Warrior’s Code, and later turns toward American folk spirit heard on releases like This Machine Still Kills Fascists, without losing that tight, collective charge.
Opening the night, San Francisco’s Spiritual Cramp set the tone with a lean, tense brand of punk that pulls from post-punk angles and 90s alternative grit. Built around Michael Bingham’s upfront delivery, their songs land quick and direct, with the punchy songwriting first heard on EPs like Mass Hysteria and Television and pushed further on their 2023 self-titled debut. A solid one-two if you like your punk immediate and sweaty.
