Info
With Tough Love, Nessa Barrett pushes her dark, cinematic pop even further, blending trip-hop, alternative rock, and more organic guitars. In these new tracks, she explores love that is one-sided, the idealization followed by its collapse, drawing on intimate stories that accompany her entry into adulthood. She also plays with the boundary between fiction and reality, slipping imaginary characters in order to express desire, emotional dependence, and the relationships that unravel.
On stage, this direct, melancholic songwriting sits in the continuum of Jesus Loves a Primadonna and its introspective pop-rock turn, with atmospheres that may evoke Massive Attack, Portishead, Alice in Chains, or Fleetwood Mac. Be there on March 12, 2027 at L’Olympia in Paris for a live performance where the tension between fantasy and reality should fuse with the music.
