With Bodies & Ideas, Léon Phal brings his saxophone to La Source in Fontaine on October 1, 2026, for a concert where writing and improvisation respond to one another without boundaries. Trained as much by classical music as by jazz, he draws a clear line: a lyrical approach to playing, motifs that return like hooks, and music that advances as much by pulse as by melody.
In the spirit of his quintet, one can expect open, contemporary jazz, nourished by groove and textures that lean toward fusion, with colors that sometimes echo Africa, hip-hop, or soul.
