Info
Bonobo, aka British producer and DJ Simon Green, brings his “Distance In Static” show to The Prospect Building in Bristol on February 18, 2027. Over the years he’s built a signature sound where downtempo and trip hop meet nu-jazz touches and warm acoustic details, with grooves that stay supple and spacious rather than heavy-handed.
This event taps into the arc of his Ninja Tune-era records, from the vocal-led shift of Days to Come to the tighter, bass-and-strings architecture of Black Sands and the widescreen pulse of The North Borders. More recent chapters like Migration and Fragments push that palette further, balancing club energy with a careful sense of melody and arrangement.
On stage, Bonobo is known for moving between DJ sets and a live approach that leaves room for musicians and singers, turning his studio precision into something physical and fluid. Expect a set that plays with rhythm, muted basslines, brass and strings, and that slow-burn tension he does so well.
