On November 4, 2026, The Stylistics bring their Philadelphia soul to Buxton Opera House in Buxton, with that signature mix of orchestral arrangements, smooth R&B and vocal pop that made them stand out in the early 70s. The show is a chance to hear the group’s classic sound up close: silky harmonies built around a soaring falsetto, and melodies shaped by the era’s elegant songwriting and string-led production.
Formed in Philadelphia in 1968, The Stylistics hit their defining stride with tracks like “You Are Everything”, “Betcha by Golly, Wow”, “Stop, Look, Listen”, “People Make the World Go Round” and “You Make Me Feel Brand New”, alongside albums such as The Stylistics (1971) and Round 2 (1972). Still active today around founding members Airrion Love and Herb Murrell, the band keep that warm, polished soul alive on stage, while nodding to the lighter pop-soul turns they explored later in the decade.
