Info
Remca presents: Assassin.
Highly political rap, Assassin is a French hip-hop group founded in Paris in the mid-1980s, led by its leader Rockin’ Squat, a prominent figure in France’s politically engaged rap scene. A precursor of conscious and liberated hip-hop, the group established itself from its early days with uncompromising lyrics, politically engaged songs, and artistic freedom.
Assassin is the first French rap group to achieve a gold record entirely independently, producing and distributing its music through its own label, Assassin Productions. The group thus becomes a benchmark and an influence within French and international hip-hop culture. With more than a million albums sold and tracks that have become cult classics, Assassin has influenced several generations of artists.
In 2026, the group marks its return with a new album and a tour, faithful to its militant and creative DNA.
Assassin will perform at La Cartonnerie on April 1, 2027 at 6:00 PM.
