Info
On November 17, 2026, Daoud will perform with his band at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, and this is no ordinary jazz evening. The Franco-Moroccan trumpeter, producer, and composer likes to pull the lines apart: his music lives in the tension between chaos and tenderness, between irony and sincere melodies. In performance you hear how he plays with rules rather than follows them, sometimes restrained and lyrical, and at other times with sudden, hard outbursts.
With ok, his 2025 album on ACT, it’s about falling and starting over: motifs that recur, slipping away, and rising again. That stubbornness also shows in the playing, in the way themes are repeated and opened up until something new emerges. Do not expect a slick show, but a set that dares to rub against and move, with a sound that can be both vulnerable and sharp.
