Madness land in York for a summer outdoor date at York Racecourse on 23 July 2027, bringing their Camden-born ska-pop to a big open-air crowd. Formed in London in 1976, the band grew out of the 2 Tone energy but quickly carved its own lane: tight rhythms, bright brass lines, rocksteady swing and pop hooks built for singing back.
Expect a set that moves between the early rush of their classic run from One Step Beyond... through Absolutely, 7 and The Rise & Fall, and the later, more melodic side they’ve kept sharpening since reuniting in the 90s. With Suggs at the front and that unmistakable north London spirit running through every tune, this show is all about the stories, the bounce and the band’s knack for turning everyday life into sharp, catchy songs.
