U.22 x Molekül: JKS, CVNSUMED

It has been ten years now since a background hum quietly contaminated French techno, ten years since a team of young producers imagined the future of the scene by drawing on its glorious hours, ten years since Molekül redefined the sound of our nights.

We celebrate the anniversary of this label that inspired the early days of the Animals Industry collective, now at the helm of Unité.22, and that has placed techno production made in France back at the center of the map and on the dancefloors.

Mayeul, JKS, Airod… Names now etched in the pantheon of Francophone producers who, by importing European and global techno sounds of their time, were the embers that lit the plain by blending hypnotic, industrial, raw and EBM techno, bringing the 90s rave spirit back as techno settled into a chair that sometimes gathered dust.

We will celebrate this before-and-after at the club Unité.22 with the presence of JKS, the label’s artist and a multifaceted producer who imagines the future, multiplying adventurous collaborations and sonic and club experiments.

And because Molekül has always savored the idea of continuation, its shift toward groove-driven and mind-oriented textures has been built with figures from a new generation, and we will welcome CVNSUMED, fka NN, whom we know for his storytelling when producing works or dropping his scales in a DJ set.

Accompanied by Leïka, cofounder of the Anomaly collective and a DJ you may have already seen at the club this year, this anniversary does not sound like a nostalgia bubble, but like a white stone to lay on the path of a figure in the French scene who continues to flood our dancefloors with new sounds and memories ever renewed.

JKS makes use of ten years of experience on the drums to offer an exploration of rhythm, weight and movement, a journey through the sounds that shaped him long before he touched an electronic drum machine. Grounded in techno, his music is percussive, hypnotic and rich in textures; it is propelled by grooves, evolving pads and a raw, physical energy. JKS navigates deftly between chaos and mastery, drawing from UK bass, the 140, broken techno and other influences.

A mainstay of the underground scene for more than ten years, JKS first came to prominence as a founding member of Molekül, before carving his own path by creating Smile Sessions in 2020. The label has become a springboard for new talents, helping emerging artists find their identity while staying true to the spirit of the scene.

Formerly known as NN, CVNSUMED is a Paris-born techno project founded in 2015, driven by a desire to experiment without limits. Known for his precise sound design and narrative approach to production, his music blends intensity and minimalism. With two latest releases—an EP on Kysh Records, including remixes by Benza and Sicion, and an EP on Atöm—CVNSUMED has built a reputation in the scene. His tracks have been supported by artists such as Ben Klock, Future 666, Alarico, Justine Perry, JKS, Hadone, DJ Stingray, among others. Recently, he has been moving toward a more stripped-back aesthetic, while keeping a distinctive, impactful and controlled sound at the heart of his work.

A rising DJ from the Phocaean city of Marseille, Leïka imposes her style and books dates in the clubs of her hometown. Passionate about electronic music and art since adolescence, Leïka first made a name for herself in the techno scene as a photographer, then founded her own collective Anomaly. Leïka loves powerful and punchy sounds. She blends tracks ranging from mental and hypnotic techno to more organic and tribal techno to deliver textured and dynamic sets, bewitching and impactful.
