Info
Friday, October 23, from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., a concert at Badaboum with Mari Merenda and Virginia Cambuci.
Brazil is no longer expressed solely through bossa nova and beach rhythms: it also arrives in more electronic forms.
Mari Merenda is one illustration of this. Revealed by Veneno, her collaboration with Sofi Tukker, she has built in a few months a popularity that crosses the borders of her country, without ever straying from the tropicalist heritage that runs through each of her productions.
Alongside her for this concert, Virginia Cambuci offers a more subdued counterpoint. Based in Paris since 2011 after years spent between Fortaleza and Madrid, she has built there a repertoire where MPB, bossa nova and the rhythms of the Northeast respond to one another naturally, carried by a voice full of nuance.
