On January 18, 2027, Isaiah Rashad will perform at The Melkweg in Amsterdam with a show that gives his signature Southern rap sound ample room: laid-back, a touch hazy, and full of sharp observations. Since breaking through in the late 2000s from Chattanooga, Rashad has been crafting music that isn't about chest-thumping but about real life: family, mental health, the pressure of everyday choices, and the noise in your head.
Live, that comes across through hazy beats, soulful undertones, and that half-sung, half-rapped vibe with which he lets his stories glide. Expect a set that brings together his major releases, from the early direction of Cilvia Demo to The Sun's Tirade, and the broader, sometimes funk- and R&B-inflected colors of The House Is Burning, complemented by material from It's Been Awful (2026).
