On October 9, 2026, at the Espace James Chambaud in Lons, Amadou et Mariam return to the stage with that blend that defines them: a Manding base warmed by Sahelian blues, interwoven with pop and rock, and carried by genuine melodic guitar work. Amadou Bagayoko and Mariam Doumbia, a duo born in Bamako in the 1980s, balance voice and guitar, spare backing vocals, and lyrics in Bambara as in French, anchored in daily life, the city, family, and these constant back-and-forth movements between Africa and Europe.
The concert is an opportunity to rediscover the tracks that have marked their journey, from the early titles circulated in West Africa to the albums that broadened their audience, notably after the collaboration with Manu Chao. On stage, their music preserves that direct and lively character: grooves that move forward, hooks that catch, and a collective energy that links Bamako and Paris without forcing the issue.
