Info
Silent Green presents Temple of Faitiche with two acoustic solo sets: Ulla performs her first set using only acoustic instruments. Martin Brandlmayr presents a new electroacoustic work in a spatially distributed ensemble of percussion instruments.
Ulla
Ulla is a Berlin-based musician and composer, known for detailed ambient music with a flowing blend of electronics and electroacoustics and intimate, spectral soundscapes.
Ulla's current work, Hometown Girl, released under the alias U.e on her own label 28912, marks a departure from her earlier electroacoustic and digital compositions toward a more acoustic approach with clean guitar tones, woodwinds, and piano. Ulla has worked with labels such as Quiet Time, West Mineral Ltd., Motion Ward, Longform Editions, and 3XL. For Temple of Faitiche, Ulla performs her first set entirely with acoustic instruments.
Martin Brandlmayr
Martin Brandlmayr works in the tension between improvisation and composition, at the interface of electronic and acoustic sound worlds. As a drummer, he is known for his distinctive style that combines experimental methods and extended techniques with groove elements. Since the mid-1990s, he has explored hidden sounds and tonal aspects of the instrument, leading to a distinctive playing style with precise rhythmic and sonic alignment.
He is a member of the groups Polwechsel, Trapist and Kapital Band 1, and became especially known through the 1997-founded trio Radian. With Radian he has released seven albums since the late 1990s, five of them on the US label Thrill Jockey. Martin Brandlmayr has worked with, among others, David Sylvian, Howe Gelb, Christian Fennesz, Ken Vandermark, Otomo Yoshihide, Sachiko M, John Tilbury, Mats Gustafsson and The Necks.
