On April 1, 2027, Moses Boyd lands at KOKO in London for a live set built around his second album, Songs for Sinners. Shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and a MOBO Award winner, the London drummer, composer and producer comes back with a show that sits right where UK jazz meets club pressure and soundsystem energy.
Boyd’s music moves fast: precise, elastic drumming, plenty of space for improvisation, and a taste for grime, broken beat, Afrobeat and dub textures. After Dark Matter’s mix of spiritual jazz and urban pulse, Songs for Sinners shifts the focus toward voice, with gospel hints, choral harmonies and heavy electronic bass threaded through the rhythms. Expect a concert that’s as much about groove and movement as it is about listening, with the drums keeping everything locked in while the sound opens wide.
