On 11 April 2027, Simple Minds arrive at the Galaxie d’Amnéville for a concert that spans nearly five decades of tense pop-rock. Born in Glasgow in the late 1970s around Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill, the band quickly slid from a nerve-wracking new wave to a broader, synth-driven writing nourished by atmospheric guitars and catchy refrains that stay with you. On stage, you hear this blend of post-punk pulse and melodic breath—the sound of the Sons and Fascination and New Gold Dream era—yet also the rising force of Sparkle in the Rain, Once Upon a Time, and Street Fighting Years. Not shying away from Don't You (Forget About Me), Simple Minds links their art-rock beginnings to their more recent records, from Graffiti Soul to Direction of the Heart.
