On 28 November 2026, Joshua Idehen lands in Copenhagen at RUST with a show that sits somewhere between a concert and a spoken-word performance. Idehen, British with Nigerian roots, has for years operated at the crossroads of contemporary jazz, electronic textures, and a precisely rhythmic delivery of words, with the words sitting as tightly as the beat.
His lyrics tackle everyday observations, social reflections, and more intimate stories, delivered with a direct articulation that lets you listen for the detail and feel the pulse of the whole.
Live, you can expect that the spoken word will not be set apart from the music, but woven into it: house- and broken-beat sensibilities, flexible electronic textures, and jazz-inflected arrangements that allow room for both forward momentum and contemplation.
