Originating from the Atlanta suburbs, Teddy Swims (Jaten Dimsdale) first rose to prominence in 2019 with online covers in which he injects his warm, melismatic soul into classics as well as pop or country tracks. Since then, he has built a personal repertoire at the crossroads of soul, R&B and pop, with gospel, rock and country influences, and songwriting focused on stories of relationships, vulnerability and rebuilding.
Signed to Warner, he released the EPs Unlearning (2021), Tough Love and Sleep Is Exhausting (2022), before moving to the album format with I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1) in 2023, led by the single Lose Control. With 'The Ugly Tour', he brings these songs to life on stage in a setup that puts the voice front and center, supported by a tight soul groove and a very direct way of addressing the audience.
