Martin Turner and his band return to the concert stages during 2027 for another evening of classic Wishbone Ash music at Backstage at The Green.
As lead vocalist, bassist and key creative force, founding original member Martin Turner was central to the critical and commercial success of Wishbone Ash’s most revered albums; his passionate vocal delivery, songwriting ability and keen melodic sense being major components of the Wishbone Ash sound.
The 1970s line-ups of Wishbone Ash, including its trademark harmony guitars, forged a musical identity that would produce some of rock music's best known works and influence numerous bands, resulting in millions of album sales and concert attendances. Wishbone Ash’s name would become synonymous with guitar-driven melodic rock music.
Many decades later, Martin Turner continues to perform the band’s best known works and the music of the classic line-ups of Wishbone Ash continues to reach audiences worldwide.
This tour commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Classic Ash album, released in May 1977. With its distinctive Hipgnosis-designed artwork, Classic Ash was an early anthology of Wishbone Ash’s material and served as an introduction to the band’s music for many fans. Expect to hear many of the tracks featured on that album, together with other favourites, songs that have accompanied several generations of rock music fans.
