Nico Moreno returns to Complex Maastricht on November 27, 2026 for another night devoted to hard-edged techno. The French DJ and producer, based in Normandy, has made a name for himself with fast, percussion-heavy hard techno, nourished by industrial influences and rave energy. Heavy kicks, repetitive motifs, vocal samples cut with a scalpel: his sets are built to hold the tension, to ride the build, and release just enough before starting again. With his label Insolent Rave Records, he has refined a direct, dark aesthetic, sometimes tinged with gabber references, designed for the physical impact of sound.
Alongside him, Carla Schmitt brings an equally committed approach, between nerve-wracking rhythm and narrative. With a background in dance, she retains that sense of movement in sets where raw groove, more introspective atmospheres, voices and hypnotic loops intersect. An established producer on several labels and initiator of the Vibrate nights, she navigates between industrial influences, trance touches and taut techno, with a real sense of progression.
