When Black Sun Empire announces 'Blackout Rewind', you know it’s going back to the core: oldskool vibes, classics and that early rave energy of the time. On September 4, 2026, at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, the Utrecht trio will unleash their signature neurofunk and techstep sound for a set focused on tight breaks, layered basslines and that dark, cinematic tension they've been known for since the late 1990s. In addition, there’s a line-up of UK and Ireland names who helped write the history of drum & bass. Dillinja brings that heavy, soundsystem-ready bass and jungle roots that carried him from Brixton to Valve Recordings and legendary anthems. Aphrodite taps into another angle: funky, direct and floor-focused, with that typical mix of breakbeat, ragga and hip-hop accents. Matrix comes with his precise, technical D&B feel and melodic edge, shaped between Virus, Metro Recordings and later the Matrix & Futurebound era. Optical also makes an appearance for extra weight from the British school, while the Dublin-based producer Dart rounds out the lineup with fresh, club-oriented energy.
