Following her album Swirl, released in 2025, Flora Hibberd's new record Mammoth goes further into the strange.
Produced by Ben Lanz (The National, Beirut) between the Basque Country mountains and the Parisian suburbs, the album is populated by the ghosts of prehistory that haunt the present, while looking toward the future with a keen, wide-eyed gaze. The echoes of Lanz's trombones, the feverish guitars of his long-time collaborator Victor Claass, as well as the whispers of familiar voices, roll down the hillsides of this record.
The swirling mists of Mammoth make it an album that is at once more energetically pop, more baroque, and more unsettling than the one that preceded it.
