As Warning get ready to unveil their first new music in twenty years, the band reconnects with what made its name: Patrick Walker’s slow, stripped-back doom, carried by thick guitars and a clear voice that never rushes the tension. Formed in Harlow in 1994, Warning left a deep mark with Watching from a Distance (2006), a record that quietly grew into a cult favourite and brought the project back on stage years later, when Walker realised he had a solid live band behind him.
A personal turning point pushed him back into writing, starting from a blank slate in early January 2025. The new songs quickly revealed themselves as Warning material, shaping into Rituals of Shame, their long-awaited return. Recorded at The Arch Studio in Southport with Chris Fullard (Idles, Sunn O))), Ulver), the album stays close to Walker’s core themes: guilt, shame, personal failure, obsession, longing and separation, with love sitting at the centre.
