On November 14, 2026, at 6MIC in Aix-en-Provence, Thomas Fersen will present 'Comme on quitte un imperméable,' a show that extends his love for storytelling and detours. Building on his novel to be published by Le Seuil in May 2026, he invents a form halfway between a concert and a theater piece, staged by Samuel Achache, where the words advance in octosyllabic lines and the songs slip naturally into the narrative.
On stage, Fersen shares the bill with three musicians and draws from titles in his repertoire as well as newly unreleased pieces. We follow a somewhat battered hero, sent to Mexico after a rocky start in music and the loss of his job as a cable installer. Between memories of youth, exoticism, rituals and encounters, the journey becomes an initiation, with this blend of fantasy, narration and imagery that has defined his signature since his early days in French chanson.
