A duo born from the meeting of Rosemary Standley (the Franco-American voice of Moriarty) and Dom La Nena (cellist and Brazilian singer based in Paris), Birds on a Wire advances with a simple and ultra-vibrant formula: voice and cello, nothing more, but an immense playground. Their concerts are built around covers and reinterpretations, with stripped-down arrangements that let languages, eras and styles cross paths, from French chanson to English-language traditions, from Baroque to pop, including a very free chamber-folk approach.
After Ramages (2020), the duo continued this work with Nuées Ardentes (2025), an album about adolescence in which echoes of Bronski Beat, The Cure, The Doors, Barbara and Stefano Landi are encountered, with the participation of the Maîtrise de Radio France. Birds on a Wire will perform on February 10, 2027 at the Colisée de Lens, to revisit this precise and sensitive dialogue between timbre, strings and a reinvented repertoire.
