Born in California and having spent time in Vienna, New York, London, and Los Angeles, Sofie Royer arrives with pop that plays on two fronts: crisp melodies, catchy choruses, and that little sidestep that makes the whole thing feel stranger than it seems. Trained in violin and viola at the Vienna Conservatory, she retains from this background a very precise way of building her songs, while allowing herself synth-pop textures and references that come as much from visual culture as from Viennese stage traditions.
After a detour through Boiler Room (creative direction) and NTS Radio, followed by a collaboration with Stones Throw, she has established her universe across three albums: Cult Survivor (2020), Harlequin (2022), and Young-Girl Forever (2024). On stage, one can expect stylized and direct pop, intimate without being shy, interwoven with European and American influences. Sofie Royer will perform on 19 October 2026 at Le Sucre in Lyon.
