Slow Pulp head to Project House in Leeds on February 5, 2027, with their supple and nervy indie rock, somewhere between bedroom pop, indie folk, and subtle alt-country touches. Formed in Madison before settling in Chicago, the quartet led by Emily Massey (with Alex Leeds, Teddy Mathews and Henry Stoehr) built itself on melancholic melodies and simple, direct songwriting that never overplays its hand. From their earliest EPs up to Moveys (2020), recorded partly remotely and marked by a more introspective atmosphere, Slow Pulp refined a lo-fi yet crisp sound, where guitars stay airy while the rhythm section keeps everything in place. With Deleted Scenes (2021) and Yard (2023) on Anti-, the band gains depth without losing the fragility that clings to the songs. In live performances, it’s all about contrasts: the gentleness of the choruses, the build in tension, and an energy that recalls their roots in the indie rock scene—the kind that can be upfront without becoming loud.
